Who We Are
We are the LCC Anime Club at Lower Columbia College in Longview, Washington.

What Our Club Is About
Our club is about trying to promote anime awareness to the people, plus it is for people who enjoy anime and those who are curious on what anime exactly is.
Another fact you should know is that you, the people, can help build our club! If there is something you want to do, have any ideas you want to present, or something about the club bothers you, PRESENT THEM! Bring your ideas to the meetings! Remember, this club is not run by one person, but the whole club itself. You have the power to make this club whatever you want it to be.

Where To Find Us
Our meetings are held [Friday], at [3:00 to 5:00] PM in the LCC Student Center Clubs and Organizations room (2nd floor, Room 216). Meetings are open to all LCC students as well as club member guests, so feel free to drop by.

Hello to any newcomers to our club. If you're having trouble finding info about our activities, our bi-laws/rules, or what the next topic will be at our next meeting, look no further!

First, lets starts with where our club is held. We meet every Friday, except holidays, in room 216 in the student center upstairs. It starts at 3:00 and goes til 5:00.

If you decide that you want to become a voting member in our club, you must first attend at least 3 meetings (make sure to sign in!). After you meet that requirement, ask either the president, vice president, or Togusa that you want to become a voting member. After that, you're in! (Reminder! You must be an LCC student in order to join. You can still attend if you want and give ideas if you're not a student, you just cant vote)

By-Laws of the LCC Anime Club
A student club sanctioned by the Associated Students of Lower Columbia College

Article I - Name and Purpose

Section 1 -- Name: The name of the club shall be the LCC Anime Club.

Section 2 -- Purpose: To promote the study, discussion, and appreciation of Japanese visual culture and related material, and spreading awareness in the community.

The Purpose of this club is:

* to educate the student body and interested community members about anime and other types of Japanese visual culture.(i.e., book, movies/television series, writing)

* to study and discuss Anime and related art forms in order to develop a deeper understanding of its literary and artistic value and to promote camaraderie among members and guests.

* to inform members and guests about upcoming anime related events on and off campus, such as conventions, film festivals or community discussion groups, and help promote such events whenever possible.

* to serve the student body and community by hosting events that promote an appreciation for anime as a serious literary genre and artistic medium.

Article II - Officers and Duties

Section I -- Officers and Duties: The club offices and duties are as follows:

President: Sets meeting agendas (in consultation with the Club Advisor), organizes and conducts meetings, and facilitates communication among all officers and members as needed. Maintains neutrality in club meetings.

Vice President: Helps the President with agenda setting, organizing and facilitating meetings, and communicating with club members. If the President is unable to conduct a meeting, the Vice President will substitute. Subsequent duties depend upon need. Moderates club meetings.

Recording Officer: Distributes and collects sign-in sheets for each meeting, and compiles meeting minutes. Publishes and distributes meeting agenda and minutes.

Treasurer: Keeps records of expenses and manages club finances. Reports on club financial accounts at each club business meeting. Coordinates fund-raising activities. Fills in for Recording Officer when needed. Chairs the budget committee.

Promotions Officer: Facilitates and plans club marketing, promotions and hosted events on campus and in the community. Encourages recruitment as well as member participation at events.

Section II – Other officer duties: At least one club officer will represent the club at each ASLCC Clubs and Organizations meeting and report back to the club after each meeting. Officers should help each other to organize club-sponsored events. They should also arrange participation in multi-club events sponsored by ASLCC. Train incoming officers. Help with club recruitment. Represent the Anime Club in appropriate manner.

Article III - Membership

Section I -- Eligibility for membership: Club membership is open to any currently enrolled LCC student who attends 3 or more meetings. To become a club member, an eligible student must notify the club President or Recording officer or announce their membership at a club meeting.

Section II – Member rights: Active members are eligible to vote on club business and to propose agenda items.

Section III -- Inactive members: Members who fail to attend two consecutive meetings, unless excused by the president, are considered “inactive” and are not eligible to exercise member rights (Article III, Section II) until they re-activate by meeting eligibility requirements stated in Article III, Section I. Inactive members are not counted in calculating a quorum.

Section IV -- Disenrollment of membership: A member may disenroll from club membership by notifying a club officer in writing of their intent to relinquish membership. Inactive members who do not attend any meetings during an academic quarter (fall, winter, or spring) are automatically disenrolled at the end of the quarter. (ex members will be sentenced to death.)

Section V– Non-voting Members: Non-LCC students attending meetings may become non-voting club members by declaring intent to the club president and being approved by a simple majority vote.

Article IV - Meetings of Members

Section I -- Regular Meetings: Regular meetings of all members occur weekly during the academic quarter. Locations for meetings will be announced by club Officers and on the club website.

Section II – Business Meetings: Club business will be conducted at each regular meeting. Voting on significant items of business will take place at those meetings.

Section III -- Quorum: A quorum shall consist of a simple majority of active members (more than 50% of the number of members on the active member roster). No official business will be conducted with presence of quorum.

Section IV -- Voting: Issues that require a vote can only be passed by a simple majority of the quorum. Changes to any official anime club document must be passed by 2/3 majority of active members. Changes to unofficial documents will require simple majority.
Section V – Election of Officers: Officers for the following school year are elected by majority vote of active members at the last regular meeting of Spring quarter. When an officer position becomes vacant during the school year, the presiding officer will call for an election at the next regular meeting. The election will be held at the next business meeting following the announcement. The club advisor will officiate over all elections.

1. Discuss: what is anime? Definition/ overview of anime, manga, OVA, OAV, ect.
2. Introductions (get to know the people, why they were interested to join, and what type of anime they are interested in and so on.

*This club can be whatever you want it to be, so bring ideas!
*Join club wiki and help us built this website!
*Become an officer! We need help maintaining the club so please if you can, nominate youself or someone.
*Remember: the LCC clubs should strive to be educational, cultural, social, and recreational.
*club funds can only be spent on LCC students who are club members, except for when we promote and host public events...
*Viewing anime and discussions
*Cosplay and manga/anime exchanges...
*Events the club can put on at the college
*T-shirt designs: we need your artistic talents/ideas.
*Upcoming cons: attend as a club, or just informally?
*Gary(ASLCC PR guy)- here to help us promote club and make events happen.
*ASLCC wants volunteers from the clubs to help out with ASLCC events.

Date & Time: Oct 16, 2009 from 3:00 to 5:00.

Attendance Count: 12 plus Togusa

On Record:
Today's meeting, we talked about the parents night (which was successful, thanks to Kora). we then began talking about the Film fest, hoping to enter a two minute film snippet about our club., then we moved on to Halloween opening in the LCC student center. We have a booth, but need the people to run it. we talked on what we could sell to the people to raise money for our club. the suggestions so far were ramen, anime charicatures, baking, and plushies. we are still in the developing stage.
We began disscussion on what us watchers perfer; Sub or Dub? Our group didn't really care which. Next Zack (our vice-president) began talking about the rules of order on how we become member of the club and how to obtain voting rights.
We also started a disscusion on an arcade night idea. Anime style based games are perferable.
We decided to move the mascot vote to next week, for it was a busy week for everyone.
We also talked about updating our website. We realized that we aren't explaining well what our club is about. Also on the works is making a comic on what anime club is about.
Also we began discussing whether if we should throw an anime convention of our own at the school.

NEW POSITIONS FILLED!
Alex Womack (Bucket-Head) is our new recording officer.
Sara Woleller (Taia_LeonHart) is our new evil assista- er, I mean, Promotion Officer.

On Record:
Today's meeting started out a bit slow. Our president was absent due to personal buisness. Togusa was 20 minutes late, so we talked about what to do for the meeting. When Togusa arrived, we began the meeting by accepting Kora into our group for completing qualifications for joining and is now a voting member! We have also elected 2 new officers to help take off some of the work load for our president and vice-president, our new Promotions Officer is Sara Woleller and our new Recording officer is Alex Womack. Congrats you two! (Weird that I'm congradulating myself...)

For shirt design, only one image was submitted... And everyone got a kick out of it! Alex's idea was accepted due to the whitty humor, plus the fact that no cats were being harmed in the picture for Olivia, our president. Sugesstion have been made to make the design better and Alex is in the process of redrawing it.

We have also touched a bit about MewCon. Togusa is in the process of getting the hotel rooms. If you are going to the MewCon, it is perfered that you stay with the anime group til the end of the trip... Unless something important comes up.
